The role of sustainability in business is evolving rapidly. At Wallenius Wilhelmsen we feel the impact of the changes it is bringing in every aspect of our activities. Since our needs and interests on sustainability are many, varied and expanding, we are seeking to expand our sustainability team so that we can continue to best direct and support the business.
Purpose of the role
The role, located in Oslo, will add capacity to the sustainability function to ensure the needs and interests of the business are being met and anticipated.
Engaging in the regulatory process to help achieve progressive and pragmatic outcomes is highly valued. The role will increase impact in this area by adding structure to the current activities and deepening engagement with key stakeholders.
Investors are increasingly taking account of sustainability in their decision making process. The role will be charged with ensuring the company is engaged with the right initiatives and achieves its best possible results.
-Contribute to the delivery of the Lean:Green Sustainability Strategy objectives-Elevate the approach to regulatory affairs with particular reference to IMO and the EU
-Support development of our ESG programme and initiatives
-Supervise implementation of supplier sustainability management system
-Assess and drive engagement with major sustainability reporting initiatives
-Assist with communications activities including promotion of group sustainability
Requirements for this position (skills, competence and behavior)
-Passion and vision for sustainability in business
-Critical thinker with enquiring and imaginative mind
-Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
-Minimum 10yrs relevant industry experience, including with maritime regulatory affairs
-Comfort with multitasking and ability to cope with rapidly evolving task list
-Technical and operational knowledge of deepsea liner shipping highly valued
-Energetic and engaging approach, inclination to take the initiative
-Familiarity with major sustainability reporting initiatives and standards preferred
-Global perspective and ease in working within a multicultural environment
-VP, Global Sustainability and wider HR-Sustainability-Comms group
-Marine Operations Management team, WSC and NSA
-Top Executive Team
