We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer

Aker Solutions has recently secured new long-term contracts on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and the project portfolio in Bergen is rapidly expanding. We are now recruiting several new employees to strengthen our teams and prepare for future growth.

Aker Solutions Structural & Marine department based in Bergen consists of over 90 highly qualified Structural & Marine engineers. The engineers are involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from smaller Front End Studies to Major Modification Projects and various Specialist Services. We now have an opening as Senior Structural Engineer in Aker Solutions Bergen.

 Responsibilities and tasks:

• Structural analysis, calculations and design reports of main, secondary and outfitting structures
• Execute structural concept studies
• Checking of other engineers' analysis and calculation reports
• Interaction with other disciplines
• Develop design of outfitting structures in close co-operation with designer and other disciplines
• Structural calculations and analysis
• Documentation of strength and design according to governing codes and specifications
• Drawing checks and Offshore surveys

 Qualifications & personal attributes:

• Bsc or Msc degree with 5-10 years experience from larger Modification projects in the North Sea
• Have high level experience with relevant analysis tools like Staad, Mathcad, Sesam, etc
• Have Performed Structural steel design including analyses and documentation
• Have designed permanent and temporary lifting arrangements, etc
• Open minded with focus on team efforts
• Solution oriented with the right attitude
• Language Skills: English. Norwegian language skills is an advantage
