Skuld's 18 months Claims Trainee-programme will give you the opportunity to learn practical claims handling while working for a world leading marine insurance provider.

You will be based in Skuld's head office in Oslo and be guided by our experienced claims staff. The trainee programme will be a combination of training and practical work, and you will be assigned to different business units and departments to learn the various aspects of claims handling in Skuld.

Job description 

The main purpose of the Claims Trainee-programme, will be to give you the necessary training and practical experience to start an exciting career as a Claims Handler in Skuld.

You will be introduced to key areas of Skuld's operations: 

• The Skuld organisation and our business 
• The shipping industry 
• Marine insurance 
• Claims handling, both P&I and FDD 
• Loss Prevention 
• Underwriting 

In addition, you will learn practical claims handling by: 

• Handling claims independently in accordance with our Claims Guidelines and routines 
• Supporting claims handlers in the business units as needed 
• Actively seeking guidance and being mentored by senior colleagues 

Qualifications and qualities 

• Minimum 3 years of higher education within Maritime Law   
• Strong English communication skills  
• Can act on own initiative and take responsibility for own tasks
• Will set high standards for service and quality 
• Can work and cooperate effectively with others
