Skuld's strategy rests on innovation and growth. With further diversification into new product areas and markets and our commitment to assure new generation competence, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial controller for our Accounting department in Oslo.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Accounts this role will have a wide-ranging remit encompassing all aspects of the daily accounting operations, providing support to the Head of Corporate Accounts and the finance team. The role will entail a mixture of group reporting, preparing financial reports, compliance with accounting framework as well as Solvency II preparations.
This is a high-profile role involving interaction across the business at all levels with both financial and non-financial personnel. Attention to detail, flexibility and a can-do attitude are prerequisites for this position, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to make this role their own.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial reporting and analysis on group level
- Follow up financial reporting from our most important operations abroad, e.g. London, Hong Kong and Singapore
- Contribute to production and review of Skuld's annual and monthly financial reports and board reports
- Leading relevant projects/contribute in ongoing projects and coordinate with other relevant departments such as IT
- Ad-hoc support for financial and accounting topics within the organisation
- Controlling and following up on Skuld's reinsurance operations
- Coordinate the annual audit and internal audit. Liaising with company's auditors, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines and preparation of the audit file
- Assist with corporate tax and VAT issues in the organisation, both national and international
Qualifications and qualities
- Higher education and minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with working in an international environment
- Good written and verbal Norwegian and English communication skills - internally and externally
- Extensive experience with Excel. Excel modelling experience is preferable.
- Knowledge and experience with IFRS and accounting framework for insurance companies.
- Knowledge and experience with insurance regulatory framework and reporting to regulatory authorities.
- Knowledge and experience with group reporting
- Experience with Ms Dynamics Ax is beneficial
- Experience with Data Ware House reports and handling large data volumes is beneficial
