Sesam - Backend Engineer

Sesam is a small and dynamic organization that makes great and amazing things. We build the data integration product Sesam, which allows users / customers to integrate data from many sources and use them to create value.

Sesam is a product division in Bouvet and is located in Oslo. We are 30 employees and now need more people who think it's exciting to get complicated systems to talk together and make things work.

Sesam has several major customers, and demand is increasing. We are getting more customers, our existing customers wants to add a lot more data into their Sesam installations, customers demand new features and we have a lot of other great ideas that we want to implement in our product as well. 

Sesam is Software-as-a-Service that can also be installed On-Premise. 

We are looking for a backend engineer who want to help to make Sesam the most reliable, flexible, easy to use and scalable integration platform. It would be preferable if you had experience with some of the following: 

• Distributed computing 
• Streaming data (e.g. Apache Kafka)
• Orchestration 
• Python3
• JSON 
• Docker
• RocksDB Persistence
• Data transformation and processing
• Big Data
• Concurrency / parallelization 
• Optimization, profiling, bit fiddling, tuning
• Testing
• High availability
• Service discovery, idempotency, replication, consensus
• Learning new stuff 

• Strong interest and competence in the field
• Love to learn new things and to share knowledge
• Responsibility for tasks being solved and dare to ask and communicate with either colleagues or the customer if necessary to reach goals
