Senior Welding Engineer
SENIOR WELDING ENGINEER Orkanger Spoolbase is located in Orkdal kommune, 45 km south-west of Trondheim. Orkanger is a city with long industrial traditions, with a sheltered harbor and hosting main offices who supply services to the various Spoolbase activities. Traditionally, the Spoolbase has been serving the oil and gas industry in the North Sea, but also delivered pipelines abroad. Due to the increase in work load, we have a vacant position for a Senior Welding Engineer on the Spoolbase. The Spoolbase is normally using mechanized welding, and developing and qualifying the welding parameters on site. The Welding Engineer is a central part in this work, but also involved in daily running of the production and contact with the Client representative on site.Do you recognize yourself in text below and would you like to join a professional and inspiring team? - Advising and offering technical expertise on welding and metallurgical matters, non-conformances etc. as required.
- Preparation of detailed project specific welding procedure proposals and administration of subsequent qualification.
- Organize and ensure personnel and equipment is in place for welding procedure qualifications
- Monitoring and endorsing tests performed at appointed test houses on behalf of TechnipFMC.
- Endorsement of welding procedure qualification record packages and welding procedure specification documentation.
- Liaise with Client(s) on welding and metallurgical matters, non-conformances etc. as required.
- Responsible for the direction of Supervisory staff, and hence operational/production personnel.
- When preparing for work tasks to be performed, the Welding Engineer shall ensure that the work area is planned from a HSE point of view, all personnel have the necessary documentation or information to do the task correctly, all risks involved are identified and that necessary equipment is available. Your Profile
- Engineering degree (M.Sc) in metallurgy or materials technology
- Preferably more than 3 years of experience in welding/metallurgy
- Preferably certified International Welding Engineer
- Preferably at least 1 year of this in offshore related activities
- Good verbal and written English and Norwegian.
- Demonstrable personal qualities appropriate to the leadership and care of Supervisory personnel
