One of the most important keys to a successful company merger is meaningful and open internal communication. Our 900 employees across 3 countries need to understand the direction and the role they each play in our merger. And they need it as soon as possible. Can you help?

In return, we offer you real influence and access to top management, whom you will interview and communicate with regularly. You will often be writing on behalf of the top management and working closely with the Executive Assistant.

 

About the merger

Broadnet (NO) and GlobalConnect (DK) are in the middle of a merger which will make the joint company one of the largest fiber-based data communication companies in Northern Europe. The merger will combine Broadnet’s strong position in connectivity and GlobalConnect’s strong position in data centers. Key to designing our new organization has been putting the customer on center stage and being a strong partner in their digital transformation.  

The new joint organization has just been communicated internally, and a successful change process going forward needs a continuous strong focus on internal communications. We need you to secure this focus and align all communication activities.

The merger will be our main focus in 2019, so there will be plenty for you to do. Gradually, the role will move into driving business-as-usual internal communication and you will be able to influence your role as we get to know one another.

 

Examples of tasks and responsibilities

Most of your time will be spent on internal communication, but the scope will also include some external communication tasks. Examples of tasks:

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategy that fosters engagement, pride and collaboration
  • Interview executives and managers for articles that allows the organization to get to know them better
  • Extract information from our merger team and translate complex content into compelling messages to inform employees
  • Be creative in formats, for example plan and produce video
  • Take lead on press communication including to write press releases when such is necessary
  • Support Marketing team if needed writing newsletters for our customers that show them the value they gain from the merger

 

About you

  • Most importantly: You have a real passion for making change with words and finding the great stories that make an impact with the right audiences
  • You have experience and proven skills with internal and corporate communication and you think strategically
  • You will be the one to drive development, so it is important that you are proactive, self-driven and do not wait for others to tell you what to do
  • It does not intimidate you to follow-up and be honest with executives. In fact, you thrive with a lot of stakeholder contact across all levels of organization
  • You have a relevant degree within journalism or communication
  • We would love if you have knowledge and/or an interest in technology, IT and telecommunication
  • We use Facebook Workplace to communicate with our employees, occasionally we use email. So, you need to be or be willing to become Facebook Workplace super-user
  • Languages written: Danish and/or Norwegian as well as English on a very high level.  Would be an advantage with basic German skills.
  • Languages spoken: Need to be able to communicate across Nordic languages, especially Norwegian and Danish, without switching to English

 

Location and benefits

We have offices in Denmark, Norway and Germany. Job location can be either Copenhagen or Oslo. Expect some travelling between our offices.
