We are looking for result-oriented, enthusiastic and outgoing Area Sales Managers within our portfolio of Digital and Advanced Services, and with strong people skills.

Tasks;

We are offering a position as Area Sales Manager in ABB AS, within Industrial Automation Oil, Gas and Chemical (IAOG) in Norway. You will be part of a sales team with domestic as well international focus covering several industries. You will lead the sales processes and contribute in own opportunity projects. Screening of new business opportunities and participant in development of sales portfolio to meet the fast shift in a transforming market will also be an important part of your assignment.

The overall objective is to contribute in positioning IAOG as the preferred supplier within digital solutions and services for offshore and onshore installations. This may include the following service Areas; process performance, operations management and smart wells. 

Close cooperation with the local and global account and product managers will be an essential part of the role.

You should be able to take the lead, with focus on team effort and maintain compliance with integrity, HSE and corporate standards.

A general technical understanding for offshore installations, process industry and automation systems and the operational challenges they face are valued skills, as well as a genuine interest for customer value creation through digital services. 

As an Area Sales Manager, you will have a key role in understanding customers needs and propose solutions as a combination of digital services and business models. You will cooperate with the sales organization in preparation of tenders.

Main objectives:
• Position ABB as the preferred supplier within digital solutions and services
• Customer visits and negotiation meetings with clients
• Sales and presentation of our digital portfolio
• Participate in tender teams as sales responsible
• Represent ABB in various marketing activities
• Communicate and establish good relationships with customers
• Involve other ABB units to secure good cooperation and beneficial business models
• Some travel, both national and international, must be foreseen

Requirements;

You hold relevant M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree and have sales experience in business-to-business segment sales and good customer understanding, preferably from the oil and gas sector. You have a systematic and independent way of working, be able to lead and enjoy working with teams. It is an advantage with good marked knowledge of the oil and gas business and digital solutions.

This job requires good communication and motivation skills as well as an ability to manage heavy workload. You have fluent skills in both written and spoken Norwegian (Scandinavian) and English.
