Application Operation Manager

We are now looking for a:

We are looking for a manager for the operations teams within the application management.

The position will be focusing on leadership, coaching, and execution of operation services. You will also be ultimately responsible for that the team in an efficient way follows our company strategies and supporting an efficient and agile approach.

As team manager, you are responsible for profit and loss for your team as well as budget, follow up, resourcing, people management and development as well as delivery of operations services to Extenda Retails clients. You will be responsible for leading a global team of 12 employees located in Sweden and Norway as well as 15 near/off shore resources. You will have 2-3 team leads reporting to you. In this role you will report to the Director of Application Management and be an active member of the leadership team. As the company will change from the country model to a more global operation, you will also need to embrace collaboration, and a global and scalable approach.

To be successful in this role we think that you have previous experience of managing an IT- operations team with people management and development where communication is paramount. You must have sound technical knowledge with a solid understanding of operation methods and tools such as Appdynimics or similar. We are looking for a person who has technical background, with capability to learn our products, combined with a result and business-oriented approach, with the ability to change, lead, manage and execute.

You will be responsible of a global team that secure application operation with low disruptions and interruptions.  

 Other duties and responsibility include:

• Set the strategy for Operations services and execute on it
• Lead the monitoring and analyzing of the applications in production
• Check its effective and working out a strategy for improving when necessary
• Presenting findings to stakeholders and higher management
• Managing quality assurance programs with base from production
• Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost
• Requirement on projects and products for system to be prepared for production
• Best-practice
• Personal/staff in Norway, Sweden and Nearshore/Offshore
• Tracking and measuring staff performance.
• Budget responsible

As an Application Operations Manager you will also have to do a lot of liaising with other teams and interacting with managers of different areas of the organization like IT, DevOps, Product development, Professional Services and Support.

Operation experience:  4+ years of IT / Application operations, Hosting or DevOps, Experience of working in a hands-on oriented environment with the ability to create structure and results.

Self-Motivated: You need to be a true self-started and eager to take ownership of tasks to ensure problems get solved.

Empathy: Have your finger on the pulse of clients so that you always examine problems from clients perspective. You have strong drive for quality improvements

Collaborative: You will collaborate with managers and members in Product Development, Dev Ops, IT, Sales and Professional services. Maintaining effective Relationship is important in success.

Strong Interpersonal Skills: Its crucial for you to build relationships across all different parts and organizations from product development to hosting part and everything in between.

Clear Communicator: You need to be a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly and highlight the key insights.

Leadership: You will lead a team, manage team members, and create a hard-working but fun culture. You have experience of leadership and building efficient teams and leading people in change.

Solid technical profile with intercultural understanding: You have a strong technical education e.g. as master degree, preferably combined with a commercial background. You have worked at least 10 years in the industry or similar software, and you have experience with finance and accounting, as well as reporting on management level. Business language will be English you are fluent in spoken and written English.
