COO POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer for Intoware Limited. Intoware is a MBO from a NASDAQ quoted company that has just celebrated its 3rd birthday. Based in Nottingham, England, with 25 team members, Intoware is a fast-growing, world-leading software business. As COO you will be responsible for the management and development of all operational activities. You will help drive results in a performance-oriented culture among a group of diverse and talented individuals. Your experience with other fast-growing technology companies will help you craft efficient and effective systems for the entire organisation while taking direct responsibility for all of its operational activities.
The ideal candidate will have strong personal accountability for results, a strong commitment to teamwork in support of the company’s success and an adherence to ethical business practices. They must also and comfortable operating in a “start-up” environment with an ability to prioritise and drive actions to closure.
Strategic development of the operational function specifically accountable for Product Development Team, Product Quality, Testing, Customer Success, Customer Deal Desk, Logistics, HR, GDPR, Legal and general day-to-day business and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- As part of the management team, ensure that day to day business and operational performance improves year on year.
- Develop a team ethic, ensuring agreed strategies are deployed throughout the business.
- Implement a “Lean & Agile” software development strategy for the current version of WorkfloPlus (v2.7) and v3 which will include an SDK and SaaS platform.
- Develop, establish, and direct the execution of operating policies to support overall software development objectives and meet budgetary and other financial goals.
- Working in partnership with CEO, and management team to create a 12, 24 and 36-month headcount plan for areas of responsibility.
- Implement the required procedures to achieve the above.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for a rapid scaling of operational capacity through automation, process improvements or other productivity measures while maintaining high quality standards, rapid response times, high reliability and cost-effective operations.
- Oversee all administrative functions, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Use good meeting (SCRUM/sprint) and project planning practices to drive focus and results.
People:
- Manage individual performance & appraisals. Ensure annual personal and corporate objectives are established for each employee with quarterly reviews.
- Oversee annual professional and training development plan for each employee and provide ongoing coaching.
- Recruitment, hiring, onboarding and retention
- With CEO, CFO & RemCo, manage compensation and benefits administration
General:
- Participate in expansion activities, such as a planned Round A financing, corporate alliances and possible acquisitions.
- Work with the CEO on the management of relationships with partners/vendors
- Ensure GDPR is implemented and kept current.
- Oversee contract negotiation and legal activities: employment contracts, client contracts, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and other legal documents.
- Develop and execute an integrated go-to-market plan for the product, including feature roll-out, product positioning, and routes to market.
- Partner with Business Development leader to establish agreed mix of pricing, marketing programs, direct sales, and channel partners.
- IT Operations to ensure appropriate systems are in place to achieve goals.
- Interface with Sales, Marketing, Finance, particularly on the production on high quality MI.
Skills and Expertise
- Degree level education or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience with progressive general management responsibilities in the software technology industry in a high-paced, rapid growth environment.
- Proven P&L management track record.
- Business line management experience in launching new technology products. This includes expertise in operational scaling for growth and profitability.
- Have good practical software development management experience in a fast-moving, often complex environment
- Have excellent planning and organisational skills, with a proven record for delivering on time, to plan and within budget.
- Have good analytical skills and understanding of financial metrics
- Be a good communicator and motivator who is able to present and influence at all levels.
- Managing multiple projects in a manner that focuses the team and drives results
- Excellent people skills, and an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to Intoware business plan.
