Structural Engineer

Odfjell Drilling Technology (ODT) has 75 dedicated and QHSE-oriented resources serving the following areas: Platform maintenance, Drilling engineering services including EPCI, MODU and fixed installations, New build projects, Yard stays, Technology projects & improvement processes.

Within our business unit Odfjell Drilling Technology we are looking for a structural engineer at our office in Bergen. We are looking for an experienced can do candidate that is motivated by challenges in a hectic working environment.

Work tasks:

• Structural calculation and construction
• 3D Inventor both modelling and draft
• Work descriptions and evaluate installation methods
• Study and project execution within drilling facilities on Mobile Offshore Units and fixed platforms
• Engineering Work Packages
• Perform surveys, onshore  and offshore
• Supplier and Work shop following up
• Technical input to tender
• As Built

Formal qualifications:

• Technical, Bachelor or Master degree within engineering with minimum 5 years experience

Experience/ Knowledge

• Experience with Mobile Offshore Drilling Units and/Or fixed platforms structural design
• Finite Element method (FEM)
• 2D design experience (Microstation and/or Autocad)
• 3D design experience (Inventor)
• Good theoretical understanding concerning statics and steel constructions
• Petroleum industry standards, rules and regulations such as Norsok, DNVGL and Eurocode
