Insurance Manager

About the Unit

Yara Insurance Department (YID) is the central unit for insurance in Yara and is part of the Finance area. The department which is based in Oslo has a global mandate for insurance and delivers insurance solutions and provides advisory to Yara subsidiaries worldwide.
As a large industrial company the department has the responsibility for multiple insurance lines. These are placed either as separate policies or as global insurance programs with local insurance policies. Yara has a captive insurance company it uses as an insurance risk management tool. YID uses brokers to execute the insurance strategy.

We are now looking for a motivated and pro-active person who identifies with Yara’s values. The candidate should have 5 years+ of work experience with international insurance programs. The candidate should have a wish to pursue a career in insurance

Responsibilities

• Management of Yara's Global General & Product Liability insurance program, and Financial Lines insurance program
• Provide worldwide servicing and have in-depth involvement in risk and insurance issues for all aspects of Yara’s business.
• Provide contractual advise and assist in contractual negotiations with regards to insurance matters.
• Lead broker and insurer tenders as necessary.
• Develop mapping exercises and assessment of risk exposures.
• Build up and maintain good partnership and working relations with different players in the insurance industry.
• Administer the premium allocation and invoicing for the relevant insurance lines.

Profile

• Masters Degree (economy, law, engineering or other relevant degree).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with international insurance programs
• Must be able to communicate complex matters in a clear and simple way and be a team player
• Ability to make decisions based on assessment of matters combining insurance and operations.
• Flexible with respect to working hours
• Understand Yara’s business model and ability to grasp plant operations
  
  

Additional Information

Working in the insurance department means you will work on supporting Yara’s business worldwide. The Insurance Manager will be part of an expert team and work with own dedicated tasks and with the other team members as may be required. The position has a broad exposure towards internal and external stakeholders.
