We now have 2 vacant R&D Chemist positions.

One position is for Decorative Paints, Exterior products. The other one is for Jotun powder Coatings at Functional laboratory. Responsibility of Functional laboratory is to develop and maintain epoxy powder coating technology and products for corrosion protection of steel.

As an R&D Chemist you will develop and maintain products by preparing, testing and evaluating paint/binder/raw materials contributing to ensure that the aims of the R&D plan are reached. You will also carry out required development and maintenance tasks by planning, formulating, testing and evaluating recipes and raw materials. This is carried out in consultation with a professional adviser and in accordance with the R&D plan.

You will report results from development and maintenance work both orally and written through R&D and monthly reports to ensure that the correct decisions, based on current experience, are made.This also includes to search for and make use of knowledge through literature, practical experience, learning from others as well as attending courses to be able to work more independently with more complex R&D tasks.

Tasks

Plan and carry out tasks in accordance with the R&D plan.
Formulate, test and evaluate recipes and raw materials.
Report the results from developing and maintenance work.
Have recipe responsibility.
Support process/production with up-scaling and trial production of new or modified formulations.
Support marketing and sales dept. with customer contact and give technical advice internal and external regarding products, and prepare and update technical product information
Prepare and update product information

Qualifications

Master or Phd in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, material technology
Prior experience with coatings for corrosion protection is an advantage for the position in Powder Coatings

Education

College / University, Master's degree
