Role Summary/Purpose:
The Embedded Engineer has responsibilities extending to the design and development of software for handheld ultrasound products.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing general software for ultrasound devices running Linux/Android/iOS.
- Integrating ultrasound devices with Android/iOS apps on mobile devices.
- Designing and implementing software and drivers for embedded devices in handheld ultrasound products.
- Working closely with hardware team in requirements gathering and system design, mainly interfacing with and integration of ASICS and FPGAs.
- Assist in applying software methodologies to VHDL coding for FPGA development.
- Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms.
- Leveraging DFR for software, Test Driven Development, Scrum and Lean software development methodologies to drive reliability upstream into the product development life cycle.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related computer field
- Experience in software development.
- Software development lifecycle and automated testing experience.
- Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages, including C/C++, VHDL.
- Experience in interfacing software with peripheral devices.
- Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as Git or subversion.
- Experience in software platform, advanced applications, embedded and/or systems engineering
- Experience in VHDL coding and/or FPGA development.
- Experience in cross platform and application development
