The main laboratory is located in Sandefjord and we have regional laboratories in China, South Korea, Malaysia, Dubai and the US. We have more than 200 people employed in R&D. Co-operation with the regional laboratories are important in order to develop products suited for the local needs. This may require long or short term stays at the regional labs.

We are currently looking for an R&D Chemist who will be involved in the whole process of developing new technical solutions for Marine and Protective Coatings. The main responsibilities for the new positions will be to develop new paint formulations, test methods and methodologies as well as to extend the knowledge of the chemistry in paint formulations.

Tasks

Polymer characterisation.
Update on new technologies through literature, conferences and liaison with raw material suppliers
Contribute to development of new binder technology for performance coatings
Development of new paint formulations.
Extend the knowledge of the chemistry in the paint formulations.
Contribute to development of new binder technology for performance coatings
Development of new test methods and methodology.

Qualifications

Master or PhD degree in Polymer Technology
3-5 years research & development experience
Relevant experience within the coating industry

Education

College / University, Master's degree
Scientific subjects

Language

English
