OSM Maritime Group is seeking a Legal Manager to join our office in Arendal. As Legal Manager you will be overall responsible for legal matters within our global organization and reporting to the CFO. The position requires sound leaderships skills in an international context, combined with professional legal expertise.

Tasks

Offer legal advice, interpretation and guidance to executives and managers on a variety of legal areas, including, but not limited to; contract law, employment law, data protection (hereunder GDPR), compliance, and other corporate and business matters
Coordinate, instruct and review the use of domestic and international external legal counsel
Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operation, and participate in strategic decision making, helping drive the business and legal claims
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
Negotiate, write, execute and supervise agreements on behalf of the Company
Participate in, and contribute to, RFP/tender processes towards potential customers
Prepare, attend and represent the company at court hearings and at public litigations
Maintain and improve legal policies and processes
Manage, process and settle internal employment issues involving harassment, discrimination or other breaches of code of conduct
Tax knowledge, hereunder transfer pricing is an advantage
Handle default payments

Qualifications

Norwegian legal degree at master level and preferably license to practice law (advokatbevilling)
Minimum 5 years working experience
Experience from the maritime/shipping industry
Experience with international contracts and structures
Strong leadership skills
Commercially driven with strong negotiating skills
Excellent written and spoken Norwegian and English

Education

College / University, Master's degree
Law subjects
Maritime / Offshore subjects

Language

Norwegian
English
