Position description

Norbit Aptomar is hiring service engineers to the Service & Support department. The position requires short and frequent travels to both international and domestic marine- and/or offshore- installations.

As a service engineer in Norbit Aptomar, you will be an important part of our service and support process for our own products and solutions. The service and support process typically starts as a customer support request, and moves through remote analysis and offer phases before ending up as a service mission where you will travel to a port, board a vessel and service the equipment.

In addition to service and support, you will be involved in production, testing and calibration of Norbit Aptomar products, which involves electrical and mechanical assembly, programming/flashing of firmware/configuration and testing.

As a service engineer in Norbit Aptomar, you will be given the following responsibilities:

Onsite installation & commissioning of Norbit Aptomar products and systems
Onsite training of customers operators
Onsite Service & warranty jobs on Norbit Aptomar systems
Remote diagnostics of systems
Technical support / service: Communicate with customers to diagnose any problem
Technical support hotline duty schedule
Register product failures in relevant systems and ensure continuous improvement
Participate in Failure Analysis-cases & development projects
Maintain and update service documentation
Proactively seek and develop improvement proposals to products and processes

Qualifications

Norbit Aptomar is looking for a motivated and devoted employee with the following qualifications:

Electro / Automation, Bachelor or technical College level education
Organised and structured work habits
Good team player, but also strong independently i.e. out on fieldwork
Experience with GNU Linux / Unix or other terminal based OS
Quick learning skills
Experience with industry-, marine- or offshore- installations and requirements is an advantage
Good English skills, both orally and written
Offshore safety certificate is an advantage
