About

The main purpose of this role is to support the development and implementation of the long term Operations alliance strategy, improve contract templates and support the Category Manager in market analysis.

Category Specialist is responsible for managing Contract Categories and managing the portfolio of contracts within the designated categories. The Category Specialist is responsible for contract administration, sourcing and to support of the Manage Supplier performance process together with the Contract Accountable Manager.

The role shall support the implementation of OPS alliances and define how the scope covered by the contracts in its portfolio will be executed in the future alliance model.

The role shall proactively develop the Category to maximize value and minimize total cost of ownership in cooperation with both the Supply Chain Management team and the Business Unit.

This role is accountable for a range of activities in support of the category team’s end-to-end category management process.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of Category- and procurement strategies, manage and lead sourcing processes, plan and lead negotiations, evaluate and prepare recommendation of award and finalization of contracts.
  • Manage contract portfolio within designated categories and administration of contracts, maintaining Company’s contract management software system current with all required contractual information meta data and documents.
  • Support the OPS Alliance implementation process and performance management
  • Support the Contract Accountable Manager and other supporting functions in the line in the Manage Supplier performance process.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including handover of new Contracts to The Contract Accountable Manager, the line, Operational Procurement and other relevant stake holders in Company.
  • Participate and where appointed lead improvement work within the Supply Chain Management department.
  • Monitor supplier markets in liaison with the SCM Analyst for designated categories.
  • Work closely with Category Manager and Lead in negotiation of contractual terms and contract drafting.
  • Define best practices to achieve contract excellence and define metrics to show improvement.

Ønskede kvalifikasjoner

  • Minimum 4 years of higher education, preferably a Master’s degree (e.g. MSc, MBA, etc.) in Purchasing, Contracts or other relevant subject. Alternatively equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant purchasing experience, at least 2+ years of experience from strategic sourcing (Contracts).
  • Preferably 3 years of experience from the Oil&Gas industry in similar role.
  • Working knowledge of Contract law
