Senior Electrical Engineer

Head Energy is glad to offer the following contract position as Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description:

• Design, specify, evaluate and follow-up electrical equipment and systems, such as but not limited to MCC, VFD/VSD, distribution panel, transfomers, motors, distribution networks.
• Has specific extensive knowledge and experience in handling these devices and systems from design/specification to inquiry, bids evaluation and detail engineering follow-up.
• Instrumentation, control and fire&gas systems. Has general knowledge and experience in handling these devices and systems from specification to inquiry, bids evaluation and detail engineering follow-up.
• The person will be the initial single point of contact for any matter relevant to Electrical
• Occasionally available to travel, possibly on short notice, to Suppliers factories for inspections/meetings/tests
• Follow-up E&I packages and their documentation against design, customer, authorities and Suppliers.
• This role is mainly project-related whereof various specialist disciplines are working together on a complete delivery.
• Will have a role as discipline engineer or package responsible engineer, depending on project setup and scope of work.

Education/Experience:

• At least 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of successfully delivering results.
• Master degree (MSc, 5 years) in Electrical Engineering
• Conversant with IEC, NEMA, NFPA, NEC standards - and EU directives
• IECEx certifications or equivalent are an advantage
• Offshore certifications (valid) are an advantage
• Able to think outside of the box to find out and propose more cost-effective alternatives
• Conversant with Suppliers technical follow-up, from bid phase through bid clarification meeting, kick-off meeting, pre-inspection meeting and factory acceptance test/final inspection
• Team player but able to work independently and take decisions when required.
• Able to understand and adapt to the different needs applicable to different tasks such as tender work, engineering FEED work and EPC execution tasks.
• Able and experienced in carrying on practical field tasks such as supervision of works and suggesting practical solutions/alternative during construction/ commissioning/start-up.
• Structured and clever in individuating requirements from specifications and regulations, and setting them into their own design/specification package.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
