The Finnish translator position at Expedia Inc. offers this mix in a dynamic, multi-cultural and productive environment. You will work together with our international teams all over the world to allow all Expedia Inc. brands to operate with a truly global 'Best in Class' localization quality solution.

We will work with you to help us translate a broad range of important content from branded websites, User Interfaces, mobile apps and mobile websites for all Expedia Inc. brands. We would also ask you to Craft SEO-friendly and market targeted articles to promote specific destinations.

We would also need you to provide key Support the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Teams in localizing URL, keywords, key phrases for SEM campaigns

There is quite a variety of content that you would get translating including hotel content for all the Expedia Inc brands, HR documentation, training material and related documentation for internal and external clients (hoteliers), automatic emails to customers and hoteliers, newsletters, marketing emails, Social Media content, marketing and merchandizing material, including banners and promotions for the specific markets.

You really are at the heart of all content that gets seen internally and externally so this is an important position for us.

That is the 'what' of the job, but it's the 'how' that makes us Expedians! we're sure that you can do all of the above easily but we will teach you the tone, style and voice of Expedia branded products.

In short we need you to be...

• Engaged in translating and localising all kinds of content
• Used to working in a busy environment with lots of talented fun people
• Capable of having meaningful business conversations with a variety of internal partners

• If you hold a Degree in Translation/Linguistics/Computational linguistics, please apply
• You would have at least 2 - 3 years in the translation/localization industry
• Writing/editing experience, would be really desirable
• Experience of a global working environment
• Strong communication skills. Expertise in English

• Able to work independently

• MUST be a native-level speaker of Finnish
• Extreme flexibility and ability to adapt to multiple tasks
• Linguistic skills and aptitude: familiar with working in a multilingual environment
• Technically minded: able to grasp technical and complex concepts quickly
• Desirable - Knowledge of Translation Memory tools - Trados, SDL Worldserver
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail, special ability to focus on linguistic issues
