Description of position:
We are looking for a person with skills and will to handle small and large projects in a hectic environment. The person we are looking for will be responsible for administrating and coordinating the operational work related to the management of our four semisubmersible Heavylift vessels. The operational department is expected to be 4-5 people once fully operational. The position reports to managing director of GPO Heavylift AS.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Coordinate loadmasters for loading and discharge operations.
- Follow up loadmasters and ensure sharing of lessons learned
- Assist engineering department in planning of operations - review transport manuals/drawings
- Discuss operations with client, attend Hazop/Hazid etc.
- Communicate with vessels on a daily basis as needed
- Attend loading and discharge operations from time to time
- Arrange for fabrication and delivery of required equipment for transports
- Follow up equipment stock onboard vessels
- Arrangement of agents
- Assist in ordering Bunkers
- Assist Loadmasters and vessel's masters as needed
Preferred Qualification requirements:
- Master mariner, captain/chief officer or similar
- Experience with or knowledge about marine operations like Float-on/off, Roll-on/off or Skid-on/off
- Sailed on large vessel and/or rig
- Relevant working experience from the shipping and offshore
- Fluent in English language both verbal and written.
- Computer knowledge is important

GPO Heavylift Ltd. was established in 2014 for the purpose to provide worldwide heavy transportation solutions. The company has four new Semi-Submersible Heavylift Vessels under construction suitable for dry transportation of offshore rigs, offshore/onshore modules and other heavy cargo. The first vessel is already in operation and second vessel will be ready for operation early 2018. All vessels are newbuilds at a reputable yard. GPO Heavylift AS in Norway is performing the commercial management that includes marketing and chartering of the vessels, engineering of operations, supervise loading and discharge operations and follow up vessels during the transports. We are now looking for an experienced Master Mariner to coordinate and administrate the operational tasks for the daily operation of our vessels.
