Infrastructure developer at FINN to develop and manage IaaS serving millions of users

We are looking for an infrastructure developer for the FINN Infrastructure team You will work with Kubernetes, OpenStack, Terraform, Consul, Prometheus, Puppet and other open source tools to build production environments supporting more than 1000 autonomous releases per week of the FINN application portfolio. Tasks will consist of continuous IaaS and PaaS development, some service migration from older solutions into newer and more cost-efficient environments, and participation in cross-functional projects. The infrastructure teams at FINN focus on empowering cross-functional developer team autonomy. We build and adapt infrastructure components to make sure all teams achieve their end-to-end core deliverables. We use state of the art technology to provide FINN with self service solutions, to avoid the manual grind of creating customized servers. The FINN infrastructure team is located at the FINN offices centrally in Oslo, Grensen 5 - 7. You will be part of 130 highly skilled and dedicated developers out of a total of 420 FINN employees. You might be called upon to help enhance global Schibsted infrastructure components serving and handling data for more than 250 million monthly users. The local infrastructure is currently running on a mix of bespoke Kubernetes and OpenStack, Kubernetes in Softlayer and Kubernetes in AWS. The Open Sourced FINN IaaS (FiaaS) deployment daemon is infrastructure agnostic. At FINN we value passionate drive towards goals, and precise deliveries. developing and running large-scale distributed systems
improving our Docker+Kubernetes-based PaaS
automating operations, deployment and production
avoid downtime while deploying code to production continuously
enabling 24/7 monitoring and log aggregation

Requirements

a BSc degree in computer science, or relevant experience
strong analytical / problem solving skills
system administrator experience
knowledge of Containers (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm etc.)
scripting skills in Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl or similar
experience using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar

Success factors

strong Linux background
experience in developing programs in Go, Java, Python, Ruby or similar
experience in building systems that scale
experience with tools such as Jenkins, Git, Puppet, Chef
knowledge of monitoring systems (Sensu, Nagios, etc)
knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL storage technologies
knowledge of network, firewalls, load-balancers, VPN
knowledge with the ELK/EFK stack, or similar
knowledge of OpenStack, KVM/libvirt or other virtualization technologies
understanding of public cloud offerings
