Communications Software Specialist

We have a vacancy in the Systems Technology group that is responsible for integration of GasSecure’s unique sensor technology into gas detection products. As a communication specialist, you will be responsible for the front-end interface of our products implementing the required protocols and standards. You will also develop and support software tools for configuration and monitoring. As a member of a skilled software team using development best practices, you will be expected to demonstrate craftsmanship and care to continuously improve the quality of our code base, processes, tools and products. 

You are experienced with and/or genuinely interested in several of the following areas:

• Wireless Industrial communication protocols (ISA100, WirelessHART, Bluetooth, LORA etc)

• Software tools development in C#

• Embedded software programming in C for various MCUs

• Software and system architecture

• Continuous integration (Jenkins)

• Test driven development (unit/integration tests in C++/C#)

• Scripting (python/groovy/batch files)

• Safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508)

• Industrial network equipment

In addition, you should have/be able to

• Work structured and independently

• Take responsibility and initiative

• Identify and effectively communicate solutions/ideas

• 3+ years of experience with software development

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer sciences, Automation, EE or equivalent
