Jotun is a leading player in the Marine, Protective, Powder and Decorative paint market. As such the company offers opportunities for career development in many directions both in Norway and abroad. The main R&D laboratory is located in Sandefjord, Norway and is one of the largest private research centers in Northern Europe. We have more than 250 people employed in R&D with regional laboratories in China, South Korea, Malaysia, Dubai, India, Turkey and USA.

We are now strengthening one of our R&D teams in Jotun Performance Coatings; Speciality products with two new chemists. We are also strengthening our team of exterior products in decorative paints with one new chemist. IN addition we are searching for a new R&D Chemist in our Powder Coatings team. In total we are looking for 4 new chemists. All positions will be part of existing teams focusing on developing new products. Other important tasks are maintenance of existing products and development of new test methods. Extensive practical lab work will be required to get hands-on experience with the products. Positions will be located in Sandefjord and Larvik, Norway.

Tasks

Plan and carry out tasks in accordance with the R&D plan.
Formulate, test and evaluate recipes and raw materials.
Transfer competence
Recipe responsibility
Act as project leader for agreed development tasks
Search for and make use of relevant knowledge, be one step ahead.
Production follow up, and guidance when needed.
Follow up of main suppliers, and new relevant ones.
Professional responsibility and coaching of assistant(s)/technician(s), including KIT.

Qualifications

Higher education in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry
Newly graduated are encouraged to apply
Experience with product development, testing and raw material evaluation
