For customer, we are looking for a Marine Superintendent in Bergen.

Marine Superintendent is the key person for initiating, monitoring, distributing responsibility for follow up and completion vetting- and CDI, PSC inspection reports.
Your main work will be related to technical Oil Major Vettings inspections and Marine will be the nautical experienced department in the company.

Work description

Work Cooperation:

Cooperate with Technical Superintendent concerning vetting, Port State Controls (PSC) inspections of Company vessels.
Assist Marine Manager in work out and review Bridge - and Cargo Procedures in Ship Operation Manual.
Be a member of Company Emergency Preparedness Team and 24 / 7

Marine Superintendent holds delegated responsibility for:

Planning vettings and CDI inspections
Conducting and follow Port state Control
Contributing to the implementation and maintenance of international rules and regulations
Participating in the investigations of accidents
Improve Nautical and Cargo procedures

You will report to Marine Manager, and your authority will be to:

Establish agreement with Oil Majors concerning vetting inspections
Initiate actions to maintain safe operation of vessels
Reduce damage consequences to personnel, vessels and cargo.
Delegate findings, upon inspections, to Technical Superintendent for responding within defined due dates.

Qualifications

Qualifications and experience requirements:

Deck Officer and/or experience as Marine Superintendent
Extensive Experience from vetting inspections
Experience with, and intimate knowledge about, internal auditing
Knowledge about national and international safety maritime laws and ISM code
Good knowledge concerning Vessel inspection questionnaires and guideline
Good english and norwegian language oral and written
Good IT/computer skills
