About the unit

Mastering technology and development has always been a key to the commercial success of Yara’s products. Yara Technology Center (YTC) is located in Porsgrunn, Norway and Sluiskil, Netherlands. The focus is to improve existing processes and technologies as well as to develop new and innovative solutions for processes and products. YTC is part of Yara International ASA and serves Yara world-wide.

YTC consists of eight research departments with a total of 90 employees.  We perform process R&D as well as manufacturing support to existing fertilizer production. YTC also operates pilot plants and laboratory facilities, including analytical instruments.

The Basic Engineering & Project Management Department is organised as one of seven process departments at YTC. The department has the responsibility for supplying process engineering and project management resources to the other departments at YTC.

We now have open positions for Process Engineers. You will report to Head of Basic Engineering & Project Management.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects according to Yara safety, ethical, environmental and quality standards as well as Governmental regulations
• Development of process design packages
• Troubleshooting and optimization of Yara production units
• Project management
• Initiate and drive professional networking across the organization

Profile

• MSc or PhD in Chemical engineering
• Min. 5 years of experience from engineering, development of process design packages or plant operations 
• Experience from working with simulation tools, e.g ASPEN, is an advantage
• Attentive to details as well as being able to understand the broader picture
• Self-driven and able to work and communicate closely with stakeholders from different cultures
• Fluent in English, one Scandinavian language is preferable
