HPE is looking for an IT Infrastructure Technical Consultant

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Norway is hiring an IT Infrastructure Technical Consultant, who will work with modern enterprise technologies for a company that values deep technical expertise, continuous learning, and innovation.

In this role, you will bring hands-on experience in datacenter infrastructure and the ability to operate effectively in both local and global delivery models, collaborating with HPE remote delivery hubs, sales, architects, customers, partners and other suppliers/vendors. A proactive, adaptable mindset and strong communication skills are essential to navigate in our dynamic operating environment. Although based in Norway/Oslo office, and most of the work can expected to be done locally/&remotely, you will be part of the Nordic-North organization providing opportunities also to engage across the region (and even beyond).

This position requires strong technical drive and a commitment to continuous professional development. The candidate must demonstrate deep knowledge and hands-on experience in compute and storage technologies, including relevant operating systems. Experience with networking, backup, and cloud solutions is considered an advantage. The role requires professional-level language skills in both Norwegian and English. The selected candidate must be willing and eligible to undergo appropriate Norwegian security clearance successfully.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide technical consulting to external and internal customers and partners and different delivery teams

• Coordinate and lead implementations and deployments of new infrastructure, including solution design and migration activities for infrastructure-related projects

• Provide planning, design and presales support for the development of complex datacenter solutions

• Act as a trusted advisor and establish, develop, and maintain long-term customer relationships

• Continuously maintain and expand technical expertise in leading technologies and relevant industry/market domains

• Understand technologies and trends related to Linux-based computing

• Install, configure, and deploy compute- and storage-based platforms and datacenter solutions for the selected customers

• Install, configure, and deploy VMware & Linux -based platforms and technologies for the selected customers

Education and Experience Required:

• 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total).

Qualifications:

• Experience with IT infrastructure products such as compute, storage, and datacenter solutions

• Self-driven professional able to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes in complex environments

• A valid national/EU/NATO-level security clearance is an advantage; otherwise, the candidate must be prepared to complete the required national security screening

• Experience and/or certifications in the following areas are considered an advantage:

  • Linux-based operating systems

  • Virtualization technologies such as KVM and VMware ESXi

  • Software-defined cloud and storage solutions

  • Container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift
