At Odfjell Technology, the IT department is the engine behind global collaboration and innovation. We deliver a robust and modern IT infrastructure that connects Odfjell Drilling, Odfjell Technology and Odfjell Oceanwind - approximately 4,500 users in more than 15 countries and on 9 offshore rigs - as well as interfaces with customer and supplier networks.
We are looking for a Service Desk Manager to lead and further develop Odfjell's global IT Service Desk function. The role will be an important technical hub between the business and the IT/GBS function. The role is responsible for operational delivery, structure and continuous improvement of our global Service Desk.
The Service Desk Manager owns the global intake model (Single Point of Contact - SPOC) and ensures effective coordination of incidents and changes, as well as service quality, transparency and operational discipline.
The position is based in Bergen, Norway.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and develop the global IT Service Desk team. Own and continuously improve the global Single Point of Contact (SPOC) model.
- Ensure efficient handling of service requests, incident management and coordination of change requests in accordance with established governance principles.
- Drive SLA follow-up and ensure transparent service reporting.
- Define, monitor and improve operational KPIs and dashboards.
- Improve workflows, prioritisation logic and escalation procedures.
- Identify recurring issues and drive structured follow-up through Problem Management.
- Contribute operationally with hands-on support.
- Ensure visibility of the IT equipment lifecycle and coordinate procurement processes.
Competence requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in IT or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of experience
- Leadership experience within IT Service Management or similar operational roles.
- Experience leading distributed or global teams.
- Good understanding of modern IT infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of ITSM practices and frameworks (ITIL certification is an advantage).
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 platform and its adoption.
- Practical experience with technical IT support or a similar operational IT role.
- Understanding of security principles, including identity and endpoint management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Norwegian and English.
- Some international travel should be expected.
