MYP Science Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-qualified Science Teacher for an 80 % position, teaching science within our IB Middle Years Programme. You will be responsible for the academic and social development of the students in your lessons, and for building a positive, engaging learning environment. You will report to the Coordinators and the Head of School.

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based science lessons aligned with the IB MYP

• Follow up each student academically and socially, and differentiate to meet diverse needs

• Set clear learning goals and provide ongoing assessment and feedback

• Maintain planners, attendance, marks and records in Toddle

• Collaborate with colleagues at grade-level and curriculum meetings

• Communicate professionally with students and parents (with guidance from the Head of School)

• Contribute to IOP, PPT and BUPP processes as needed

• Complete IB certification and ongoing professional development

• Promote the welfare and best interests of the students at all times

• A relevant teaching qualification (lærerutdanning / PPU or equivalent) with at least 60 ECTS (studiepoeng) in science / natural sciences, meeting Norwegian competence requirements (UDIR) for the relevant grade level

• Excellent English language skills

• Experience with the IB (MYP) is an advantage

• A flexible, organised, collaborative and positive approach, with strong problem-solving skills

• Applicants with qualifications from abroad must hold, or be able to obtain, recognition through HK-dir, and must be eligible to work in Norway

A satisfactory police certificate (politiattest / barneomsorgsattest) must be presented before employment, in line with privatskoleloven § 4-3.
