As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimizing processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. At Kuehne+Nagel, our contribution counts in more ways than we imagine.
The National Sea Logistics Development Manager is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of a focused portfolio of strategically important Sea Logistics customers in Norway.
The role acts as the main commercial contact and trusted advisor for assigned customers, ensuring strong relationships, long-term growth, service excellence, and close alignment between customer needs and Kuehne+Nagel’s Sea Logistics capabilities. In close cooperation with operations, sales, and the wider Kuehne+Nagel network, the role drives account development, solution implementation, and continuous improvement across the customer portfolio.
How you create impactDevelop and execute strategic account plans to drive customer growth, expand service footprint, and deliver sustainable, profitable business.
Act as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring alignment of customer needs, priorities, and expectations across all relevant functions.
Identify, design, and propose value-added Sea Logistics solutions in close collaboration with operations, sales, and the wider network.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline within assigned customers by proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Lead regular business and service reviews, ensuring alignment on performance, priorities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee successful onboarding and implementation of new business, ensuring smooth transitions and effective internal coordination.
Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience.
Monitor customer performance using defined KPIs (e.g. volume growth, service quality, pipeline development, retention) and ensure timely follow-up.
Maintain accurate systems, account plans, SOPs, and reporting, while leveraging market and customer insights to support continuous development and best practice sharing.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Sea Logistics, freight forwarding, key account management, business development, or a similar customer-facing commercial role.
Proven ability to manage key customer relationships and translate customer needs into value-adding logistics solutions.
Solid understanding of Sea Logistics operations, including import/export processes and implementation requirements.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across functions in a matrix organization.
Good knowledge of freight forwarding, including LCL and FCL, as well as import and export processes.
Advanced English and fluent Norwegian skills; additional languages relevant to the customer portfolio are an advantage.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, combined with a customer-focused, commercially driven mindset.
In this role, you will take on a strategic and high-impact position with direct ownership of key Sea Logistics customers in Norway, giving you the opportunity to shape customer growth, influence commercial strategy, and deliver tangible business results. You will work closely with an international network and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to complex, value-driven logistics solutions while continuously developing your commercial and industry expertise.
