We are looking for a Sustainability Manager to drive and further develop Orkla House Care's sustainability agenda across our global operations, in line with Orkla ASA's sustainability ambitions.
This is a hands-on and cross-functional role, where you will work in close alignment to where key business decisions and development take place, to ensure that sustainability is embedded into daily operations, decision-making, and our value chain. You will act as a central subject-matter expert, partnering with and constructively challenging the business. You will translate sustainability requirements into practical actions and help shape how we operate going forward.
The Sustainability Manager is part of the Quality, Compliance & Sustainability team, led by the Quality & Compliance Director. You will also benefit from collaborations with the extensive expertise available within Orkla Sustainability Center of Excellence, other Orkla portfolio companies, and participate in the Orkla Sustainability Network.
Success in this role requires a high degree of ownership, a structured approach, and the ability to influence and drive progress across the organization.
Your main responsibilities
- Drive and follow up on the implementation of OHC's sustainability strategy
- Ensure compliance with relevant EU and Nordic sustainability regulations (e.g. CSRD/ESRS), and translate requirements into practical, fact-based solutions grounded in operational reality.
- Lead ESG data collection, governance, and reporting, including ownership of external sustainability reporting to Orkla ASA and other stakeholders
- Define and follow up on sustainability KPIs, ensuring measurable progress and continuous improvement
- Coordinate and drive sustainability initiatives across functions and sites, e.g. leading CO2 Reduction Plan, due diligence processes, double materiality assessments, Ethical Trade annual report, and ESG-related risk management
- Act as an internal subject-matter expert and a key voice for how sustainability is approached across OHC in a structured and consistent way, including supporting sustainable products, packaging, and sourcing initiatives, and customer and supplier sustainability requirements
- Prepare decision-making material and provide clear, fact-based, and forward-looking recommendations to management
Qualifications
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as sustainability, engineering, business, or supply chain
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within sustainability, ESG, compliance, or related fields, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing
- Practical experience with EU sustainability regulations (e.g. CSRD/ESRS) and their implementation
- Experience of working hands-on with sustainability topics across the value chain (e.g. product, packaging, sourcing, manufacturing)
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate and drive alignment across functions, sites and external stakeholders
- Experience in driving cross-functional initiatives, with the ability to plan, structure, and follow through project and change processes from concept to implementation.
- Ability to translate sustainability requirements into practical, business-relevant actions and solutions
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and communicate complex topics clearly and effectively to both operational teams and senior stakeholders
Experience considered as an advantage
- Experience from international or multi-site organizations
- Experience working with sustainability data, reporting, and analytical tools, including Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and data visualization
- Experience of working in more complex or regulated environments (e.g. broad EU compliance scope, multiple frameworks)
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a structured and proactive professional who thrives in a hands-on role and enjoys turning strategy into action.
You take ownership naturally, work in a structured and execution-oriented way, and ensure progress by turning complex topics into concrete actions. You are a strong collaborator and influencer, able to build trust across functions, sites, and external partners, while also challenging and guiding the business on sustainability-related decisions.
You combine sustainability expertise with strong business understanding and are motivated by translating requirements into practical, value-adding solutions that work in an operational context.
You identify with Orkla House Care's values: Passion, Results, Integrity, Diversity and Empowerment.
