Role Summary and Purpose 

We are seeking a strong and collaborative leader as Head of Manufacturing – Herøya, who will hold overall responsibility for manufacturing and delivery of isotopes to customers, from reception of feedstock through downstream production and quality control. This is a key leadership role at our production site, combining operational excellence with people leadership. The role also carries site lead responsibilities, facilitating effective collaboration, communication, and alignment across all on-site functions. 

The successful candidate brings solid production experience and the leadership maturity to leverage the deep expertise within the team. You create direction, clarity, and trust, while enabling specialists to perform at their best. The role requires strong stakeholder management, including close collaboration with the R&D Manager on site, and active participation in both site and production management forums. You ensure transparency, alignment, and constructive dialogue across levels, and act as a unifying force in the production environment. 

The person will also play an important bridging role across sites, contributing to a strong One Thor Medical culture and collaboration. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Pivotal leadership role in the company, acting as a key connector between Herøya and the Oslo-based team 

• Overall responsibility for manufacturing processes and delivery of products in line with quality, safety, and production targets 

• Ensure effective and reliable operation of equipment and maintenance systems 

• Oversee reception of feedstock and downstream production 

• Oversee sampling and quality control processes 

• Lead production planning in close collaboration with sales and other relevant functions 

• Lead, develop, and enable a team of highly skilled professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement 

• Act as Site Lead at Herøya, ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration and alignment across departments 

• Collaborate closely with the R&D Manager and other key stakeholders on site to ensure effective integration between development and production 

• Actively participate in cross functional collaboration meetings contributing constructively while ensuring alignment within your own organization 

Qualifications and Competencies 

• Solid experience from production environments (e.g., process industry, pharmaceutical, or chemical production) 

• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead through others and get the best out of highly competent teams 

• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in matrix organizations and across functions 

• Comfortable working in environments where you do not hold all the answers, and confident in leveraging team expertise while providing clear direction 

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate across levels and disciplines 

• Experience from project execution and driving operational improvements 

• Experience from highly regulated environments, with a strong Health, Safety, and Quality mindset 

• Business-oriented, with an interest in the company’s industry and value chain
