Vocational Teacher in Film Production Wanted
The Opportunity
Noroff Higher Vocational College is currently seeking a committed and professionally strong teacher in film production for our Campus in Bergen, for a contract position (1 August 2026 till 30 June 2027).
We are seeking an individual part time (60%) to teach and supervise within post-production, sound and practical production processes.
The position is suitable for those who have solid experience from film and TV production, who master both creative and technical work processes, and who want to contribute to educating the next generation of filmmakers through practical, industry-related and future-orientated teaching.
As a teacher with us, you will be part of a film team that teaches, supervises, and develops students' work within fiction, documentary, advertising, music videos and experimental audiovisual expressions.
You must be able to work across disciplines, but will be more responsible for post-production, recording sound and the students' technical and artistic development in editing, colour and sound.
In addition to your area of expertise, we are looking to appoint someone who is enthusiastic about learning and education in general and is open to innovative models of learning and teaching.

About our education
Film production at Noroff is practical and industry-oriented vocational school education for students who want to work as directors, scriptwriters, producers, photographers, sound engineers, editors, or filmmakers in a broad sense.
Our education gives students extensive production experience and combines technical training, creative storytelling, role understanding, and practical collaboration in film teams.
Students work with audiovisual productions in several genres and formats and gradually can delve into script/direction/producer, photography/lighting, or editing/sound.
The teaching combines lectures, practical workshops, supervision, production periods and collaboration with relevant professional environments and industry players.
Your key role and responsibilities
The position involves teaching, supervision, and professional development work in a teaching team.
The person hired must be able to contribute broadly to film education, while the role has a clear focus on post-production and sound.
Plan and implement teaching in post-production, with particular emphasis on editing, color correction/grading and sound work.
Provide practical training in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve and contribute to good technical and creative workflows in student productions.
Teach and guide in recording audio with school equipment.
Provide training in the school's film and sound equipment for both first- and second-year students.
Guide students through pre-production, recording and post-production, and help them develop audiovisual works from idea to finished product.
Contribute to lectures, practical workshops, assessment, and follow-up of students' professional progression.
Collaborate closely with other teachers on holistic teaching, production planning, and development of the professional community.
Participate in the exploration and testing of new production methods, including relevant opportunities for AI in creative audiovisual processes.
Key qualifications
Relevant Bachelor’s degree e.g., in Fine Art / Film / Media studies with film or Vocational higher professional degree in Film production and 4 years professional experience
Broad knowledge of film production and understanding of the entire production process: pre-production, shooting and post-production.
Practical experience with post-production, editing, color grading and sound work for film or audiovisual productions.
Good competence in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
Experience with recording sound, including boom, wireless microphones/ audio equipment and use of professional audio recorders.
Relevant industry experience from fiction, documentary, advertising, TV production or other audiovisual productions.
Good understanding of how film productions are organized, executed and completed in professional workflows.
Ability to teach practical, supervise student productions and translate industry experience into learning for students.
Professional level Norwegian and English (Teaching preferably in Norwegian)
Qualifications and experience we also value
Teaching experience, pedagogical expertise or experience with supervising students, young filmmakers or production teams.
Knowledge of local and state film financing institutions, and understanding of how financing, development and production work in the Norwegian film industry.
Knowledge of the commercial side of the film, TV and content industry, including advertising, commissioned films, music videos, streaming platforms and SoMe-formats.
Film history knowledge and ability to place practical production choices in a larger artistic and historical context.
An interest in AI, new production tools and how technology can be used to support creative processes without replacing professional and artistic judgment.
Relevant network in the Norwegian or international film and TV industry.
