Systems Integration Test Engineer

An incredible opportunity awaits you as Systems Integration Test Engineer in the Technology Platforms business unit of Kongsberg Maritime. In this role you will be responsible for the overall integration test strategy and its implementation in our Emerging Solutions R&D project portfolio.

These projects aim to develop high-impact, cross-divisional innovations that address complex customer challenges and unlock new market opportunities in areas like zero-emission shipping, Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs), system-of-systems integration, digital systems, advisory services and advanced simulators to enhance fleet safety, efficiency and operations.

You will be involved from the very beginning, participating actively in requirements elicitation and the definition of product specifications. The role covers the full product development lifecycle - from early concepts and development through deployment, transition into operational use, and ongoing maintenance within our product portfolio.

In addition, you need to have a tester mindset, and you are always looking for trouble and identifying risks in our goals to make world class products and deliver on time.

What you will be doing

• Define integration test strategies for complex systems in collaboration with senior architects

• Design, establish and maintain test environments used for integration testing

• Integrate sub-systems in the integration and system test environments

• Support and guide other teams in integration and test activities on all test levels

• Contribute to the wider integration and test community in Kongsberg Maritime

• Always strive for continuous improvements

We think you should have

• Bachelor or Master level in engineering related subjects combined with the right experience and an interest in complex systems development

• Several years of experience in software development, preferably being involved in system engineering or test related activities

• Experience with maintaining virtual or physical test environments

• Experience with programming, specifically python is an advantage

• Experience with maritime systems is an advantage

• Experience with DevOps methodologies is an advantage

• Good communication skills
