Technical Program Manager - Subscription, Product and Tech in Oslo

ABOUT THE TEAM

Subscription, Product and Tech (Subs PT) is a department consisting of 40 software engineers in addition to UX Designers, Product Managers and Data analysts with teams in Oslo, Stockholm and Kraków.

Subs PT is a crucial part of Schibsted News Media and at its core focuses on building a world class subscription platform. We support some of the most recognized news brands in the Nordics—including VG, Aftenposten, Aftonbladet, and Svenska Dagbladet. Together, we build the platform that powers subscriptions, reader journeys, and growth across Schibsted News Media.

Within this subscription platform our Marketing Automation and Dynamic Sales team focuses on building tools to support Sales- and CX-resources in their daily work. For that we create and maintain systems where internal users can set up Paywalls, Customer Journeys, create Campaigns, Segments and AB-testing as well as ad hoc experiments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to grow our team. A TPM is responsible for the successful, high-quality, and timely delivery of products or services, acting as a servant-leader for agile teams. You enable teams by removing roadblocks, facilitating planning and standups like a scrum master, managing risks and dependencies, and optimizing workflows. You bridge the gap between technical teams and stakeholders to ensure value delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Leadership: Facilitating Scrum/Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives.

• Removing Obstacles: Identifying and eliminating impediments that block a team's progress.

• Planning and Execution: Establishing project, sprint, or delivery cadences and ensuring teams maintain a steady pace.

• Team Empowerment: Fostering a productive environment where teams are self-organized, motivated, and empowered.

• Managing Dependencies: Identifying and resolving risks and dependencies between different squads or workstreams and managing expectations.

• “All hands on deck” mentality: You help wherever help is needed to move a project forward may it be testing of features, backlog refinement or presenting progress to stakeholders.

• Communication: Acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.

What we are looking for in a Candidate:

• Proven track record as Project Manager, Software Engineer, Scrum Master or comparable role from a professional working environment

• A team player with a passion for problem solving

• Proficient in English and one Scandinavian Language
