Chef Wanted for Summer Season at Røvær Kulturhotell in Norway

Do you want to spend the summer working on a unique island on the Norwegian west coast, where local seafood, nature, and hospitality are at the center of the experience?

Røvær Kulturhotell is looking for an independent and passionate chef who can start as soon as possible. This is initially a seasonal position running until the end of September, but for the right person there is a real opportunity for permanent employment.

We are looking for someone who wants more than “just another kitchen job.” We want a chef who takes pride in the profession, enjoys responsibility, and wants to help shape the food identity of our hotel. Our ambition is to become known for high-quality food with a strong local and sea-inspired profile.

You will have a key role in the kitchen and be trusted with responsibility for:

• Planning and calculating menus and food costs
• Ordering and logistics
• Daily kitchen operations
• Cleaning routines and checklists
• Preparing everything from breakfast service to high-quality dinner experiences
• Maintaining standards and structure in a busy seasonal environment

We are a small team on a small island, so flexibility is important. Everyone helps, and we are looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on and contributing.

The ideal candidate:

• Has experience working independently in a professional kitchen
• Is structured, reliable, and responsible
• Has passion for food quality and guest experiences
• Enjoys seafood and local ingredients
• Thrives in smaller environments where teamwork is essential
• Wants to leave a personal mark on a growing food concept
• Speaks English fluently, speaking Norwegian is a big plus

The position is full-time.

Accommodation:

We can offer a small private accommodation in an old seaside building at a reasonable rental cost, where the chef will live alone. We can also assist with alternative accommodation on the island if preferred.

Start date: As soon as possible.
