Quality Assurance Officer – Maternity Cover (Temporary)

Benchmark Animal Health Norway AS is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.
This is an excellent development opportunity for someone with a foundation in quality assurance who is eager to grow their experience across QMS, regulatory and pharmacovigilance activities.
The Role
As Quality Assurance Officer, you will support the development and ongoing operation of our electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), ensuring that Benchmark and all parties performing work on its behalf remain compliant with applicable regulatory and company requirements.
You will also provide support to our Pharmacovigilance activities, gaining valuable cross-functional exposure during the cover period.
You will report directly to the Regulatory Lead and work closely with cross-functional teams across the business.
The role is well-suited to someone who wants hands-on experience and active mentorship in a friendly, science-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System
Support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the eQMS, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company requirements
Manage the administration and document control of the eQMS, including preparing routine reports and escalating significant quality or compliance concerns
Support QMS processes including deviations, change controls, CAPAs, complaints and product defect investigations, contributing to root cause analysis and timely implementation of actions
Author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and review study documentation from other departments
Support internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards
Liaise with suppliers (including Contract Manufacturing Organisations) to support quality oversight and ensure alignment with GMP/GDP requirements
Promote internal awareness of QMS requirements through training and staff support
Support stability study tracking, archiving and product quality reviews
Pharmacovigilance support
Support pharmacovigilance activities including adverse event intake, processing and record-keeping
Assist with the preparation of periodic safety reports and other PV documentation
Help maintain PV-related procedures and ensure activities are carried out in line with regulatory requirements
General
Provide support to the Regulatory team as required
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Quality is embedded across Benchmark activities
What We're Looking For
Qualifications and experience
1–2 years' experience in a Quality Assurance, Regulatory or related role within a GxP environment (industry experience, traineeships, internships and relevant placements all welcome)
Some exposure to QMS processes such as deviations, change controls, CAPAs or audits is an advantage, but full training will be provided
Familiarity with electronic document or quality management systems is a plus
Degree in a relevant life sciences discipline
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential

Comfortable working independently with appropriate guidance and not afraid to ask questions
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
Problem-solving mindset with the confidence to escalate issues when needed
Flexible and able to travel nationally and occasionally internationally as required
