As Manager for the Mechanical Discipline, you will shape the technical direction of key product areas and lead a talented team developing next generation electrified handling solutions. You will be part of the management team in the Engineering Department and manage the activities in your discipline across locations.
Duties and responsibilities
The Manager for Mechanical Discipline is responsible for all activities and deliverables within the specific discipline, covering full accountability for Schedules, Quality and Efficiency results. This role involves coordinating with other disciplines and departments, mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and manage Mechanical discipline, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and career development for all subordinates
- Technical oversight: provide technical guidance and support to team members and ensure adherence to engineering best practices
- Coordinate with other departments, including Project Management, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, Commissioning and Aftermarket to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables
- Establish, update and approve procedures, processes and best practice, tools, templates, KPIs, QC procedures and improvement initiatives to ensure quality, time and efficiency of activities and deliverables within its responsibility
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices to ensure that methods, tools, and processes remain modern, competitive, and aligned with organizational goals
Qualifications
- Relevant higher education within technical field, or other relevant experience
- Typical 5+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in relevant engineering disciplines
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and experience related to the accountability and tasks
- Good knowledge of English, oral and written · Good cultural understanding
