We are looking for an ambitious HR Supervisor who wants to play a key role in developing people and performance.
Odfjell Drilling is a leading international drilling company with over 1,600 employees and head operational office in Bergen. We operate a modern semisubmersible fleet and specialise in harsh-environment operations.
We aim to have the best rigs, the best people, and the best culture. Success in demanding conditions depends on top talent both onshore and offshore. Our culture is built on respect, collaboration, and continuous development, with a strong focus on safety and performance.
Are you passionate about creating structure, driving performance, and building strong teams?
We are seeking a performance-focused HR Supervisor to lead and deliver in a complex operational setting. The role carries clear responsibility for delivering HR services that support offshore operations, efficiency, and goal achievement, while developing people, processes, and collaboration across the organization.
This is a key leadership position within HR Operations, where you are expected to take ownership of both daily delivery and continuous improvement, with clear ambitions to elevate quality, pace, and results.
The HR Supervisor is a key role in ensuring stable operations, efficient resource utilization, and high-quality performance from the people delivering the company's core offshore business. The role combines leadership, operational responsibility, and strategic improvement initiatives, with clear expectations for performance and results. The position reports to the VP of HR Operations.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead and further develop the HR Operations team with a clear focus on performance, structure, and collaboration.
You ensure efficient offshore staffing, rotation, and resource utilization, maintaining high quality in planning, follow-up, and execution.
You are responsible for ensuring that HR processes deliver measurable results in cost control, quality, delivery time, and employee experience.
You act as a clear and trusted sparring partner for operational management in matters related to staffing, competence development, conflict management, and organizational development.
You drive improvement initiatives within HR systems, work processes, and governance models, translating strategy into practical and effective solutions.
You hold overall responsibility for payroll approvals, contracts, rotation systems, union collaboration, and HR support for operations and tender activities.
You ensure that the HR team delivers with precision, structure, and high professionalism throughout all stages of the employee journey.
Desired Qualifications
Higher education in HR, finance, or administration, or solid relevant experience from HR Operations in complex organizations.
Strong operational understanding of staffing, rotation, contracts, payroll, and HR systems, preferably from offshore or international environments.
Clear and confident leader who creates structure, direction, and motivation within teams.
Comfortable at setting expectations, following up on performance, and building a culture of accountability and delivery.
Analytical, solution-oriented, and confident in dialogue with management, employees, and labor unions.
Personal Qualities
You have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of both challenges and results.
You have a talent for defining clear goals for HR Operations deliverables and actively follow up on them.
You have a strong drive to build a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement within the team.
You have the ability to work in a data-driven way, using KPIs to optimize staffing efficiency, control costs, ensure delivery accuracy, and monitor employee follow-up.
You identify bottlenecks, areas for improvement, and risks early, and translate these into concrete actions that deliver measurable improvements.
You communicate fluently in Norwegian and English.
