We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel for a regional role in the global energy sector

The Role

As Region Legal Counsel – Øglænd, you will act as a trusted legal and compliance partner to the business, supporting complex regional and global transactions within the energy sector. The role requires a commercially minded legal professional with strong experience in project contracting, particularly within offshore oil & gas and offshore wind.

Based in Kleppe, Norway, you will work closely with regional stakeholders while interfacing extensively with global legal, compliance, and functional teams across the Hilti Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal and compliance support across the Region, covering project sales, large contracts, and transactional matters.

• Review, draft, mark-up, and support negotiations of complex commercial and project contracts, particularly within offshore energy projects.

• Advise on deal structures and support pre-contract activities, including NDAs, RFPs/RFQs, and bid processes.

• Support project execution phases, including claims management, contractual correspondence, dispute resolution, and interaction with external counsel where required.

• Support the rollout, localization, and implementation of global contracting concepts and compliance initiatives in line with Hilti Group policies.

• Act as the regional interface to global legal subject matter experts, including IP, trade compliance, risk and insurance, tax, and procurement.

• Contribute to compliance training, monitoring, investigations, and reporting in close cooperation with the Head of Legal & Compliance.

• Be an integral part of the Regional Legal & Compliance team and collaborate closely across regions and functions. 

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified lawyer with 5–8 years of experience, gained in a top-tier law firm and/or as in-house counsel in a multinational company.

• Legal qualification from the EU, UK, USA, or another comparable jurisdiction.

• Authorised and registered with Advokattilsynet, or an equivalent regulatory body in another jurisdiction.

• Strong experience in project contracting, including direct customer-facing negotiations within offshore energy (oil & gas or offshore wind).

• Experience with EPCs or large-scale project environments is highly advantageous.

• Broad legal skill set covering commercial contracts, compliance, product liability, corporate matters, and related transactional topics.

• Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable university; Master’s degree in Law is an advantage.

Languages & IT Skills

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

• Norwegian, Danish, or Dutch is an advantage.

• Strong IT literacy (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
