At InflowControl, we are 65 employees who work together each day to realize our vision of Changing the Oil Industry to become more sustainable and cost-efficient. We focus on supporting our customers to ‘Make Better Wells’ by applying reservoir management technology, such as patented inflow control technologies; Autonomous Inflow Control Valve (AICV®), Autonomous Outflow Control Valve (AOCV®) along with other complementary reservoir management technology.
InflowControl currently has nine offices worldwide, including our main office in Porsgrunn Norway, where we host Engineering, Research & Development, Manufacturing and Business Support departments, as well as a state-of-the-art lab for the development and testing of our technology. We are building a unique position in the market by helping operators to achieve their goals of increasing net oil, increasing recovery and reducing unwanted water and gas.
To strengthen our R&D team, we are now looking for a motivated Development Engineer with a creative and analytical mindset. As a Development Engineer in InflowControl you will contribute in the development and optimization of our technologies related to lower completion flow control equipment for oil and gas wells. Which includes performing CFD analysis, experimental tests and qualification of our products to ensure the highest standard of performance and quality. The Development Engineer position will be an influential role working on improvements to existing technology products as well as new development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously develop and improve the AICV® and complementary products for lower completion equipment for oil and gas wells
- Participate in research, development and qualification projects of our technologies
- Conducting experimental research and development work in our laboratory facilities
- Perform flow calculations and CFD simulations using Ansys Fluent
- Preparing technical reports, procedures and documents
- Contribute to quality assurance and quality improvement in our products and value chain
Qualifications and what we are looking for:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process Engineering or a closely related subject
- 0-5 years relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of CFD and CFD simulation programs.
- Experience in experimental or theoretical fluid mechanics.
- Preferably have upstream oilfield experience.
- Other relevant experience will be considered subject to overall profile.
- Strong focus on quality and HSE. Sees jobs through to the end and pays close attention to quality issues.
- Support new ideas and initiatives, enjoy change and novelty and continually looks for ways to improve things.
- Team-oriented, considerate and supportive and work well and effectively with others like colleagues, customers and external partners.
- Self-driven and able to work independently under pressure.
- Good communication skills in both English and preferably in Norwegian (spoken and written).
