Exciting opportunity in offshore wind
IWS Fleet is operating a series of newly built Walk-to-Work Service Operation Vessels tailor built to operate in offshore wind farms. We took delivery of our latest newbuilds in the IWS Skywalker class in 2025, and now have 6 CSOVs serving offshore wind farms in northern Europe.
With this rapid expansion we are now looking for new colleagues to support us in maintaining the safety of our colleagues and clients, protecting the environment, and keeping our customers happy.
As our HSEQ Supervisor you would take an integral part of this work by following up on any incidents and safety issues onboard, identifying how we can learn from them and improve, and sharing the learnings to the organization.
In addition you would participate in internal and external audits and follow up of any findings in the audits. This includes traveling to and sailing with the vessels when necessary.
To ensure that we comply with the requirements from our clients, stakeholders and organisations, you would support in monitoring these requirements and suggesting improvements to our procedures to ensure that we are operating in a safe and efficient manner.
You will work continuously to find ways that we can make our work simpler, more efficient and with a lower impact on the environment, and work on implementing these improvements in organization.
The HSEQ Supervisor will report to the HSEQ Manager, and will work closely with the other departments in our offices at Aker Brygge in Oslo.
Key tasks
Support vessels and colleagues on shore on daily requests related to HSEQ, regulations and the SMS.
Monitor and follow up and incidents onboard our vessels. Attend the ships for accident investigations if necessary. Identify and provide feedback to the fleet on lessons learned from incidents and near misses.
Implement and overseeing safety programs to prevent accidents, injuries and safety-related incidents
Gather, summarize and share KPIs and statistics from the vessels. Assist with internal and external reporting. Work on improving and simplifying information gathering from the vessels.
Contribute to planning, preparation, conducting and follow up of internal and external audits onboard the vessels and in the office. Travel and sail with the ships for audits when necessary
Ensure that business activities are conducted in compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
Support on gathering and reporting of data on emissions and other environmental impacts for the vessels and company
Contribute to providing HSEQ training for ship and office personnel
Participate in and attend officers’ conferences.
Support development of emergency procedures, conduct training in emergency handling, and support in arranging emergency exercises.
Monitor regulations and requirements and implement amendments to company procedures to ensure compliance with new requirements,
Support with review of client requirements for new contracts, support in reporting to customers.
Participate and provide support from HSE department in projects, campaigns and tenders.
Support in maintaining records and related to our ISO certifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within HSE, Quality, Maritime or other relevant subjects. Alternatively 3+ years of seagoing experience or experience from similar positions within the maritime industry
Knowledge of maritime regulatory regime (IMO, Class, Flag), and relevant HSE-requirements in the industry (IMCA, GWO, OCIMF)
Preferable knowledge of ISO standards like 9001, 14001, 45001.
Experience with ships QMS/SMS and its usage onboard
Training and/or experience in incident investigations and risk assessment
Experience and knowledge in gathering and reporting on KPIs in safety and environmental areas.
Experience in handling of internal and external audits. Preferably qualifications as a lead auditor.
Proficient in the use of office software (Excel, Word) and preferably other relevant software (UniSea, PowerBI)
