Jotron is strengthening its R&D division and is looking for a curious Software Engineer to work on the research and development of industry leading products for the Air Traffic Management market.
As a Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of interesting and challenging tasks. Working closely with other software, firmware, and hardware engineers, you will be responsible for developing new and maintaining existing software products. In addition, you will be able to influence and shape tomorrow's solutions.

We work in a vibrant environment and use a combination of modern technologies and tools including programming languages Rust, Qt/C++ and Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and Angular. We create products both for Linux and Windows operating environments. Our products are safety critical, so we put a lot of attention on software engineering approach and quality.

The workplace will be in Larvik. You will be part of the software development team that currently consists of 22 engineers and work with software development and quality assurance.

The role involves a range of activities which may vary over time

• Designing and developing new software features.
• Researching and recommending new technologies.
• Improving and maintaining existing portfolio of software products.
• Writing Unit Tests, testing own code.
• Analyzing functional/non-functional software requirements and customer specifications.
• Debugging software and systems.
• Working with QA analysts and software engineers to find solutions for problems.

Education, experience, and skills
If you have some of these qualifications, you may be of interest to us:

• Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or another relevant technology/engineering field.
• Experience with technologies like C++/Qt, Rust, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, PostgreSQL, Git.
• Linux operating system knowledge.
• Experience or education with OSI model and general communication protocols, IP protocols.
• Good communication skills in English language (written and oral).
