Temporary HSEQ Engineer – join our team!
Do you have a passion for HSEQ and a want to work close to operations in a dynamic and innovative industry? DeepOcean is now looking for a temporary HSEQ Engineer to support our project teams and HSEQ department while several colleagues are on parental leave.

Location: Haugesund or StavangerDuration: Temporary position (covering parental leave) starting as soon as possible, until 01.01.2027.
About the Role
As an HSEQ Engineer, you will help ensure that our operations are carried out in line with internal requirements, legislation and industry standards. The role is primarily onshore-based in but you will also support mobilisations and have opportunities for offshore trips if desired.
This is a varied role combining strategic HSEQ work with hands-on operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and follow up project-specific HSEQ documentation
Support Project Managers with risk assessments, HSEQ focus areas and operational follow-up
Advise and assist different parts of the organisation on HSEQ-related matters
Conduct investigations and reporting following incidents, accidents and near misses
Participate in mobilisations and travel offshore as the HSEQ Engineer when required
Contribute to tender processes and ensure correct HSEQ information is reviewed and delivered to clients
Conduct internal audits, supplier audits and inspections
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HSEQ, risk management, safety, nautical science or similar
Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
Preferably experience from HSEQ work within the subsea/offshore/maritime industry
Experience with operational risk assessments is a plus
Fluent in both Norwegian and English
