Python Consultant for Cisco Systems

Are you passionate about scalable backend architectures and cloud-native solutions? We are seeking a skilled consultant to help drive the evolution and scaling of the Cisco Failure Analytics Tool (CFAT) in a temporary assignment from February to April 2026.

About the role

Join our innovative team in Lysaker and help drive the evolution of the Cisco Failure Analytics Tool (CFAT), a mission-critical service that analyzes failure logs from thousands of devices every day. The tool supports daily test runs and performs real-time analysis to enable mission-critical diagnostics across Cisco products.

To improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability, CFAT is transitioning to a Kubernetes-based deployment model. The ideal candidate for this assignment has a strong interest in system architecture, deep expertise in Python, and hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating services in Kubernetes environments.

Work tasks

• Collaborate with the CFAT team to design a scalable, cloud-native architecture for crash analytics in Kubernetes

• Contribute to the planning and execution of the migration from VM-based infrastructure to Kubernetes

• Refactor the existing Python codebase for containerization and Kubernetes deployment

• Identify and implement improvements for scalability, reliability, and performance during the migration

• Take ownership of architectural decisions and technical deliverables, working independently while engaging with the team

• Share insights and best practices for cloud-native Python services and distributed systems

We are looking for

• Solid experience developing backend services in Python

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining services on Kubernetes

• Strong architectural skills, with a track record of building scalable and reliable solutions

• Fluency in spoken and written English

• Valid work permit for Norway
