Engineering Specialist - Offshore Wind

As an Engineering Specialist in Offshore Wind, you will play a central role in developing and strengthening Aibel’s HVDC and HVAC substation offerings. You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues in the Offshore Wind Concept Team and contribute your discipline expertise across a wide range of activities, including concept development, early phase studies, tender work, and project start up, ensuring that technical solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with Aibel’s methodologies. We are looking for domain experts within electrical systems, EIT, layout and material handling, HVAC, structural engineering, RAM, system and area management, jacket design, and weight and estimation.
In this role, you will help safeguard and evolve Aibel’s Offshore Wind concepts by capturing lessons learned, promoting consistent use of established methods, and driving improvements from a holistic perspective.Your responsibilities include following up on relevant requirements and philosophies, supporting interface coordination, and contributing to the development of standard designs and specifications. You will also support the ongoing improvement of Aibel’s engineering methods and processes, helping to enhance quality and efficiency across offshore wind projects.Though the position is meant to serve across the OW portfolio, it may also include taking on roles within execution projects when this is a natural fit.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (or similar)
Minimum 5-10 years of relevant engineering or domain experience, preferably in the energy sector
Good understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g. DNV offshore standards)
Experience with HVDC and/or HVAC substations, installation or operations is a benefit
Experience with PDMS/E3D and Navisworks 3D tools
Personal qualities
You bring strong domain expertise combined with broad multidisciplinary understanding. You thrive in a collaborative environment while also contributing effectively as an independent specialist. You take initiative, seek input where needed, and willingly share knowledge to strengthen collective capability. You demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high quality results within agreed deadlines and communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is considered a benefit.
