Security Engineer

About the Role

The Security Engineer supports StormGeo’s security and compliance functions by executing operational tasks within identity and access management, endpoint security, security monitoring, and compliance administration. The position ensures that critical security controls are implemented, maintained, and monitored in alignment with StormGeo’s security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

This position is based in Norway.

Main Responsibilities

• Identity and Access Management:

• Operate and maintain Microsoft Entra ID as the primary identity platform.
• Implement and adjust Conditional Access, MFA, and identity governance features.
• Support access reviews, entitlement processes, and application integrations.

• Endpoint Security and Mobile Device Management:

• Manage Intune/MDM security policies and compliance requirements.
• Maintain security baselines for endpoints and follow up on deviations.
• Collaborate with IT Operations on device deployment and support processes.

• Microsoft 365 Security:

• Configure and maintain Microsoft 365 security features, including DLP and sensitivity labels.
• Monitor security alerts and collaborate with senior security roles on remediation.

• Security Information and Event Management (Devo):

• Develop and maintain detection rules, dashboards, and data onboarding processes.
• Perform first-line triage of security events and escalate where appropriate.
• Document and improve SIEM processes in collaboration with the Security Architect.

• Risk and Compliance (OneTrust):

• Maintain risk entries, system registrations, and compliance records.
• Contribute to DPIAs, ROPAs, and reporting activities.
• Support the CISO & DPO function with administrative compliance work.

• Collaboration and Interfaces:

• Work closely with IT Operations to ensure security controls are applied effectively.
• Cooperate with the Security Architect on technical design and improvements.
• Provide information and support to the Secure Development function where relevant.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders across the organization.

Core Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Entra ID.
• Understanding of information security principles and frameworks.
• Familiarity with security monitoring and SIEM tools.
• Experience with Intune/MDM and endpoint security.
• Strong analytical mindset and interest in security technology.
• Structured and detail oriented.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the security domain.
• Ability to follow processes and document work clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
