Laboratory Engineer

We are searching for a highly motivated candidate to join our field sample laboratory. 

The workplace will be in Trondheim, but could also be on site at client locations abroad when requested.
The job covers laboratory work and handling of chemicals in general at our routine lab. Main working tasks are routine sample preparation and analysis including activities connected to handling of field samples (oil, water, gas etc.) 
The laboratory is a modern, newly established facility and are housing a wide range of chromatographic analysis using both LC and GC in combination with FLD, UV, FID, MS and MS/MS. The nature of the position will require high flexibility and willingness to perform both domestic and international travel related to
business.

Typical working tasks for a Laboratory Engineer are

• Preparation of field samples.

• Operation of analytical instruments.

• Interpretation of chromatographic and mass spectrometry analysis.

• Support towards the Engineering- and R&D-department and perform experiments according to established procedures.

• QHSE in the laboratory.

• Document handling related to procedures.

• On-site laboratories work on oil rigs and in 3rd party laboratories worldwide.

Qualifications/requirements:

• Bachelor or Masters degree within Chemistry/Chemical engineering, Biomedical Laboratory Science or related fields.

• Relevant work experience with chromatographic analysis (LC-MSMS, GC-MS) and use of MassHunter software is regarded as beneficial.

• Experience with manual laboratory techniques such as solid phase extraction and liquid-liquid extraction will be appreciated.

• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities.

• Strong willingness to learn.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Practical mindset with ability to multi-task, coordinate and work independently.

• Personal aptitude will be emphasized.

• Proficient in Norwegian and English.
