R&D Manager - USV

Are you motivated by leading advanced technology development at the intersection of software, systems, and maritime innovation? We are looking for an R&D Manager USV to take a key role in shaping the future generation of uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). In this position, you will be responsible for building and leading a strong R&D organization with a clear focus on software-intensive systems and product development.

You will be part of our Uncrewed Platforms R&D environment, working closely with experienced engineers, product lines, and program leadership to further develop our USV portfolio while ensuring delivery on current project commitments.

About us:
You will be part of our Uncrewed Platforms division, dedicated to designing, creating, and building autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). Our advanced vehicles operate in demanding environments worldwide, and rely on advanced software, secure communication, and robust system architectures. We specialize in integrating sophisticated sensors for data collection, maritime navigation, and communication.

Key accountabilities:

• Overall responsibility for project commitments within the USV R&D domain.
• Drive the development of our USV product portfolio, with strong emphasis on software, systems, and cyber security.
• Establish, build, and lead an R&D organization for development of small and medium-sized USVs.
• Line management responsibility, including the ability to allocate and reallocate resources to meet project and strategic needs.
• Ensure maintenance and further development of existing products throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications and experience:

• Strong background in software development.
• Solid understanding of complex software systems and system-of-systems architectures.
• Experience from large, complex development projects.
• Insight into the maritime domain is an advantage.
• Proven ability to build teams, develop competence, and establish efficient ways of working.
