Senior Tax Manager for Global Company
Leading role in a large international company with responsibilities within Tax globally. We are open for location in Stavanger or Kristiansand . The global tax team consist of 2 high professionals and this position reports to Director of Tax in US.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professionals with experience from international companies and competence within the Areas described below.
Tax is a area of great focus on impact for the group and you will work closely with external advisors to manage risks and meet the quality standards of the group.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Tax Management
- Oversee and manage tax matters for the group, with a primary focus on the Norwegian entity and the group's global operations.
- Evaluate and implement tax-efficient structures for international operations, including cross-border services, financing, and supply chain optimization.
2. Transfer Pricing & Intra-group Transactions
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with the group's transfer pricing policy.
- Handle issues and challenges related to intra-group transactions and the structuring of dividends.
3. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations, including OECD BEPS and Pillar Two.
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and reporting, including current and deferred tax, and tax disclosures.
- Prepare and maintain tax accounting workpapers and documentation to comply with internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX).
4. Contractual Work & Advisory
- Provide tax advice on contract language, new country entry, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganizations.
- Negotiate and draft tax clauses in contracts in collaboration with relevant internal departments.
5. Quality Assurance & Collaboration
- Quality assure major cases and assessments in collaboration with external advisors (e.g., Deloitte).
- Coordinate information gathering and reporting with finance departments, overseas offices, and external advisors.
6. Support for Tax Audits & Authorities
- Assist with tax audits and information requests from Norwegian and foreign tax authorities.
- Proactively identify and manage tax risks for the business.
Typical Tasks
- Ongoing monitoring of tax risks and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Structuring of dividends and assessment of tax consequences for intra-group loans and capital contributions.
- Participation in negotiations and drafting of contracts with tax implications.
- Preparation of documentation and memos for auditors and management.
- Contribution to the development of routines and reporting structures, especially in connection with public listing.
- Staying updated on regulatory changes and ensuring their implementation.
- Acting as a resource for tax-related questions and issues within the group.
Qualifications
- Master degree - Accounting & Audit or related field. Master's in Taxation, Law, or Auditing is an advantage.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in international tax,
- Experience working with external advisors in a global, fast-paced environment.
- Experience from international companies with relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English and Norwegian
